the house
Bayabhonga is a brand-new house which can accommodate up to 6 guests. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one of each has a bath). It is suitable for everyone, bearing in mind that the property is equipped with a swimming pool and in a nature reserve with free-roaming animals. We are proudly child-friendly and love having little ones around to give them a chance to discover our natural heritage right by the front door.
The fully equipped open plan kitchen is meant to be a chef’s paradise with all the necessary utensils and appliances you may require to prepare a succulent meal for your family or friends. The spacious worktop will allow you to prepare whatever your heart desire. For convenience, the house is fitted with a gas hob, to avoid interruption during loadshedding. You can also charge your phone on the pop-up USB socket fitted onto the kitchen island…
Coffee-lovers will be pleased to know that Bayabhonga is equipped with a Nespresso machine and a complementary capsule per person. For convenience, the kitchen has a dishwasher, micro-wave, and a washing machine. Basic necessities are included in your stay: dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent and toiletries.
Our very comfortable couch and occasional chairs will be perfect for colder nights to watch some TV and cuddle under the blankets. You can access your favourite streaming platform such as Netflix or Disney+ or simply watch a real “live show” by the window with animals passing by.
On a hot day, you can jump in our pool and sit on the bench allowing you to watch at eye-level animals walking-by, while sipping on a cocktail. Jump out and take a shower right outside but in complete privacy. The ultimate bush experience!
When it is time for the most sacred moment of a bush holiday: a braai… Make use of the outdoor kitchen and enjoy a meal on the terrace or sit around the fire in the open-air boma. Bushbabies and other night creatures will come and greet you!
For those of us who work remotely or for the youngters who can’t stay away from social medias, the house is equipped with a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) which will grant you access to the WiFi even during loadshedding.
For your safety, Bayabhonga is fitted with an alarm connected to a 24h security company based in Marloth Park, Field Security. Their reaction time is shorter than the time required to say “Bayabhonga” and super-efficient.
Bayabhonga has at heart to be as eco-friendly as possible. We are very earth-cautious, and we hope to go fully solar in the foreseeable future.
All the furniture has been hand made by local artisans using mostly recycled wood (pallet). The appliances are all graded A or A+ and we try to use as many eco-friendly products (toiletries and cleaning products) as we can in and around the house.
Therefore, we count on our valuable guests to embrace this journey with us by making a reasonable use of the high energy-intensive appliances such as the aircons and by using our eco-friendly products.
You have the option of a self-check-in (where you collect the keys from the security company) or a “meet and greet” to facilitate your arrival at Bayabhonga.

This is the master bedroom, with a dark brown colour theme. It is design for the parents or the “special guests” as it is spacious and has its own private bathroom with shower and bath. It is on the opposite side of the house, offering privacy as well as a quiet working station (desk and chair).

This room has a green and whitewashed feature with its handmade furniture. It is facing the swimming pool for an early morning splash or a midnight swim. This natural and bright room is perfect for everyone and anyone willing to share the bathroom with the zebra room guests.
